Synopsis

Mário follows the story of Mário Pinto de Andrade (1928-1990), a Pan-African intellectual, activist, diplomat, and poet who fought his entire life for the construction of African nations with the firm conviction that independence from colonialism was the beginning, not the end, of the struggle. From Paris, where he established his intellectual home, to independent Angola, Mário spent his life in exile working and fighting for African sovereignty.
